Science: Where Mankind oversteps his boundaries.

"When you have knowledge, its hard not to test it at least once."

I was watching Fullmetal Alchemist today. It was the episode where Tucker, the Sewing Life Alchemist, had his assessment coming up, and he produced another talking chimera by fusing his own daughter and his dog. As I watched Ed and Al's reaction, and the pain Tucker's daughter was put through, I thought to myself: why do we always try to become God? To try to overstep our place? Science has been both a blessing and a curse. Knowledge is power. Yet we want to "know it all." With the Tower of Babel we tried to reach to the heavens. Look how that turned out.

We have been given everything we need. There is no need to look beyond what we have already been blessed with. The way to heaven is not through tremendous actions or leaps that defy all understanding: it is faith that opens the door.

Thought to Meditate On: The Nature of Freedom

"Freedom is neither won through painful struggle, nor can it be forced into existence...to simply accept yourself as who you are, and as you live, to let it be. In this is freedom." -Zen priest

We as humans have consistently struggled with this notion of freedom. We wage war, create religions, and risk our lives for something so intangible, yet so important to who we are.

We consistently search for freedom, for answers, for knowledge. It is when we can sit back, and see the world for what it is, and see the connections that run through every living thing, thought, and presence. In it rests the One Source of All Life.

Everything in life is connected. Everything has a purpose, a beauty to it.

We just need to stop running after it. It is only after we stop running through the forest that we are able to see the detail within the trees.
